History

Brian grew up in the Silicon Valley during the tech boom and bust in early 2000’s, which financially marred his family and seared into his mind the need for a more rational approach to capital allocation. He discovered the sound principles of value investing during college by reading The Intelligent Investor. After college, he worked in the financial services industry across a variety of roles, with the dream of one day establishing an investment management firm that embraced value investing and helped others soundly achieve their financial goals. Brian founded Emine Capital to realize this dream.

Emine Capital’s investment approach is rooted in the fundamental principle of investing with a margin of safety— buying the proverbial dollar for fifty cents. The firm is focused on the overlooked, misunderstood and distressed areas of the stock market, where undervalued opportunities exist. Investing with a margin of safety offers two benefits: 1) it reduces the risk of permanent capital loss and 2) provides a path to strong capital appreciation.
